The Memorial is intended to commemorate the Holocaust in a way that is universal and enduring. It is envisioned to be a compelling visual statement at a significant public place, not a museum. To explain or depict the Holocaust is not our primary goal. Rather, we seek in this Memorial to inspire a vivid and continuing awareness of the terrible loss to humanity, history and culture which the Holocaust represents. Its purpose is to fix our collective memory, to bear witness, to embrace the ineffable sense of loss.

HOLOCAUST
The Holocaust was the genocide of approximately six million European Jews during World War II, a programme of systematic state-sponsored murder by Nazi Germany, led by Adolf Hitler, throughout Nazi-occupied territory. Of the nine million Jews who had resided in Europe before the Holocaust, approximately two-thirds perished. In particular, over one million Jewish children were killed in the Holocaust, as were approximately two million Jewish women and three million Jewish men.
PROPOSAL
Our proposal for holcaust is giving them freedom. We proposed liner mass toward the sea. Victim’s spirits are cherished by visitors who walking along the shore of the sea. Mass is formed for communication between victims and visitors
SPIRIT'S ROUTE
The road toward the sea is the road for victim’s spirits. Victim’s spirits are cherished by visitors who walking along the shore of the sea. The memorial is located at the middle of road for victim’s spirits. So spirits can be purified through the memorial. The axis of memorial mass is equal to the axis of road. The road of atrantic city is extended by memorial
HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL
The memorial is located toward the sea. Bullet holes, fingernail scratches, victim’s names are engraved on Each standing wall. It gives the impression of victim’s pain and visitors can cherish them by touching or calling their names. And deck near the sea is designed to rise for the sea. That is emphasizing the meant of spirit leaving for the sky.
DIVERSITY APPROACH
Many diversity approach is attempted to expression the spirit leaving for the sea through mass formation. The suggestions are as in the following pictures. The stair-shaped mass emphasized the meaning of reaching the sky and the sea. The folding mass and standing mass are suggested also.
CHERISH FOR THEM
They were killed indiscriminately because of only one reason, Jewish people... Now we cherish for them to remember and take time for selfexamination. Builting of the memorial is meaningful activity. But I think that awaken an interest and understanding of the holocaust through physical activity is more meaningful activity.
